Volunteer Opportunities Aboard the USS Orleck

Would you like the opportunity to make a difference in your life and the lives of others? You can do just that by joining the dedicated, make that passionate, team of USS Orleck volunteers.

As a docent (tour guide) you will meet individuals and groups from all over the world who visit the USS Orleck Naval Museum. We've had visitors from just about every state and dozens of countries. You never know who will show up on the quarterdeck for a tour. It could be a history buff, a former Orleck crewmember or Tin Can sailor, someone who actually worked on the ship in the Orange shipyard during WWII, or a group of excited school children.

Perhaps you have a special skill or talent that can be put to use on preserving and restoring the ship. We need welders, electricians, machanists, plumbers, carpenters - you name the skill and there is plenty of interesting work to keep you busy as you work side-by-side with others with the same passion for the ship.

Can you paint, clean, do administrative work, help process and preserve historic artifacts, or design and install museum exhibits. Maybe you enjoy making presentations to community groups or have a knack for fundraising.

Whatever your interests, skills, or talents, there is a volunteer job just for you.
